Well here is one of my new projects. Randy D has started a SOW-A-LONG for Farmer's Wife Quilt. This is a quilt I have had on my to-do list for a while. Choosing the fabrics was something that I couldn't decide on until now. I have collected several homespun and flannel fabrics and thought they would look right in this quilt project. So off I went. Grabbed the SOW-A-LONG button and got started.
This quilt has 111 blocks and I came across a good way of storing the blocks as they were being made. I bought a photo album with pages measuring 8"x8". Just the right size for this project.
Six blocks so far and I am pleased with the fabric choices I made. Tell me what you think.

I'm going to be doing this sew-a-long too! I've pulled fabrics, but haven't had a chance to start yet. Great fabric choices :)
ReplyDeleteThat's great! It's always more fun with more company. My fabrics have been sitting around for a while. The last time I used flannels and homespun was about three years ago. It always has that lovely cosy feel about it.
DeleteI think it's going to be spectacular!! Great fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue!
DeleteI really like your fabric choices. It's going to be a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vivian!
DeleteThat's wonderful in the stripes!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa!
DeleteLooking good. your blocks are lovely, the fabrics are great. What a brilliant idea to store the blocks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa!
DeleteFor this project you've chosen a perfect palette of colors! And the photo album for block storage is an idea I'm going to steal from you if you don't mind sharing! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Take the idea and run with it. I came across it at a quilt show. There were some 'Dear Janers' there and they had smaller albums. It just makes it so easy to flip through and view the blocks without damaging them.
DeleteYou've done a wonderful job. Can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny!
DeleteI think they look great! I like your album idea too.
ReplyDeleteI am taking my book and writing in it. So each block will have the date I made the block and any other info I want to record right into the book. What color is your back ground fabric is that a gold, cheddar or something else?
Happy Sewing
Hi Kim, thanks for your comments. The colour is cheddar. I have had this urge to use cheddar and bought a bolt of 10m! That fabric is going to feature quite a bit in my scrappy quilts.
DeleteLove your fabric choices!!!
